Louisiana Man Saves Driver from Submerged Truck During Hurricane

A good Samaritan risked his life to rescue a motorist during flash flooding caused by Hurricane Francine in New Orleans, Louisiana on Wednesday.

A man named Myles Crawford saw what was happening and ran back to his house to get tools to aid in the rescue.

At one point, the driver fell into the water, but Crawford caught him and pulled him to safety.

When asked why she performed such a dangerous rescue, Crawford told Gilmore, “I had to go in there and do it. I'm a nurse. I have to save lives, right?”

“The eye of Hurricane Francine made landfall in Terrebonne Parish at 5 p.m. CST, packing hurricane-force winds into the southern part of the state near Baton Rouge,” the Fox report said.

“Wind gusts of 78 and 76 mph were reported in New Orleans, a 97 mph gust was reported in Dulac, and the highest wind gust of 105 mph was recorded in Eugene Island,” the outlet noted.
