Louisiana Man Arrested in Tennessee for Wife’s Murder

A man from Louisiana was apprehended in Tennessee on allegations of murdering his wife and driving across multiple states with her body seated next to him, according to law enforcement officials.

Tyrone Brasile, aged 50, was pulled over for a traffic violation in Memphis on Thursday, where authorities discovered his wife’s body, Lanessa Bradford, also 50, with a gunshot wound in the car, as reported by WREG.

Shericka Decker, a close friend of Bradford’s, mentioned that the couple had been married for many years, but Bradford had plans to leave Brasile.

“She was saving money. She was making plans. She was going to just disappear. That was the only way she could get away from him,” Decker stated. “She was going to leave her car, leave everything behind, and contact her family out of town. So she was going to run away.”

However, prior to her escape, investigators allege that Brasile shot Bradford during a disagreement at Independence Community Park in Baton Rouge, as per WREG.

Law enforcement said that Brasile traveled through several states with his wife’s body in the vehicle before being stopped in Memphis, where he was arrested as a fugitive.

“There are a lot of questions, like what were you doing with her in the car while she was dying?” Decker expressed. “Where was his mind during that ride? It’s so crazy and heartbreaking.”

In another incident, a New Jersey man, accused of killing his wife with a barbell, allegedly confessed to relatives through messages, as reported.

Decker claimed that Bradford had communicated to her that Brasile had threatened suicide or violence against her when she sought to end their relationship, although Decker expressed disbelief that she thought he would follow through.

“He never touched her until recently, maybe two or three months ago,” Decker recounted. “I wouldn’t have been surprised if someone had called and said he killed himself, because that’s what he always says. I was surprised he killed her.”

Bradford was employed at an elementary school in Baton Rouge, and the school requested authorities to check on her after she missed several consecutive workdays.

Decker shared, “It’s a very unfortunate situation. Like all of you, she was a very good person. She inspired a lot of people, a lot of parents. My prayers are with her family and friends and his, because we were all friends. We all hung out with each other. And this person is not the same person we grew up with.”

Brasile is set to appear in court on Monday for an extradition hearing to Louisiana, where he faces murder charges related to Bradford’s death.
