Louisiana man wanted for questioning after four deaths and a child injured

A man from Louisiana, already under suspicion for stabbing a woman and confining her in a motel, is now being sought by the police in relation to a series of violent incidents. Four people were found dead, and a child was critically injured, raising serious concerns in the community.

According to Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet, 47-year-old Kaegan Jude Solet, a resident of Houma, is a primary person of interest in what appears to be a string of stabbing incidents around Ashland Drive in Houma. Initially, deputies responded to a call in the 200 block of Ashland Drive, where they discovered the wounded child.

The child was airlifted to a hospital and remains in critical but stable condition with severe injuries, as noted by Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Blake Tabor. He remarked, “That’s not something that you want to see ever.”

As law enforcement searched the area, they made a somber discovery—four victims were found dead in nearby homes. Currently, the identities of the victims remain undisclosed, along with any possible connections they might have with each other or with the injured child and Solet.

Authorities haven’t revealed any details about what led to the violence or if it occurred within multiple homes. Unlike some cases, Solet hasn’t yet been arrested or charged in connection with these deaths, but the sheriff’s office clarified that being labeled as a person of interest doesn’t mean he is being accused of a crime.

Believing Solet is likely still in the vicinity, authorities are not ruling out other possibilities. Tabor stated, “We’re utilizing every investigative tool at our disposal,” expressing hope that they will apprehend Solet soon. He added that while there’s no current indication that Solet plans to leave the state or evade law enforcement, they’re keeping all avenues open. As of the latest updates, Solet had not been found.

This isn’t the first time Solet’s been linked to violent actions. In December 2019, he was arrested for an incident where he allegedly stabbed a woman multiple times and locked her in a Houma motel room. Reports indicate that upon responding to the motel, police found a 59-year-old woman seriously injured on the floor of her room.

Witnesses recounted hearing cries for help from inside the room before entering and discovering her in dire condition. Investigators identified Solet, who at the time was 40, as the suspect after he was invited into the woman’s room and an argument ensued. The conflict escalated physically, resulting in Solet reportedly stabbing her in the head and upper body, and then fleeing while locking the door behind him.

Solet had been located just 18 hours post-incident, arrested without resistance, and charged with attempted second-degree murder. Law enforcement later sought a separate warrant for him in connection with another murder case from January 2019. Officials remain puzzled about how he was free, with Tabor voicing frustration over the lack of clarity surrounding Solet’s previous legal issues.

With detectives still gathering evidence related to the current series of incidents, the Sheriff’s Office has urged anyone who might know Solet’s whereabouts to come forward and assist the investigation.

As this case unfolds, authorities have guaranteed that details will emerge, enhancing the community’s understanding of these tragic events.
