Louisiana on Trace to Become 28th Constitutional Carry State

The Louisiana Senate Judiciary C Committee passed the constitutional carry bill by a 6-1 vote on Tuesday, following a promise from Gov. Jeff Landry (R) to sign the carry bill once it reaches his desk.

This bill is Senate Bill 1.

NRA-ILA report SB1 “strengthens the right to self-defense in Louisiana by granting law-abiding adults over the age of 18 the right to carry a concealed firearm without first obtaining government permission.”

Daily Iberian I got it. “Tuesday was the second day of a special legislative session focused on crime and law enforcement issues.”

State Sen. Blake Mikes (R) sponsored SB 1, saying, “Crime is rampant. We want law-abiding citizens to have limited options to protect themselves and their property. It offers.”

State Sen. Regina Barrow (D) was the only person to vote “no” to implementing the constitution.

Currently, there are 27 states where constitutional enforcement is the law of the land.

Those states are: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
