Loved Ones Desperately Look for San Antonio Woman Who Disappeared on Christmas Eve

SAN ANTONIO, Texas

Family members, along with over 100 friends and volunteers, are tirelessly searching for 19-year-old Camila Mendoza Olmos, who has been missing since Christmas Eve. She was last spotted early Wednesday morning near her home in northwestern Bexar County.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Mendoza was last seen leaving her residence on Caspian Spring Road around 7 a.m. Investigators have examined surveillance footage from a nearby security camera, capturing an unidentified young woman appearing to search for something inside a vehicle. The video eventually stopped after a period of inactivity.

Investigators suspect that Mendoza-Olmos’ car was left at the scene, and she departed on foot. They believe she may have only taken her car keys and possibly her driver’s license with her. Mendoza’s mother mentioned that her daughter, who typically goes for a morning walk, did not return at the usual time, prompting her to report the situation.

On Friday, Mendoza’s family spoke with KSAT12 News, sharing their heartache as the search continues. Her mother expressed a mix of stress and hope, stating, “It’s very stressful, but we love her. We want to be with her. We hope she comes back.”

Friends of Mendoza have also shared their concerns. “I felt something was off,” said her friend Camila Estrella. Another friend, Isabella, noted, “It was very erratic. That’s not like her. She’s always the one checking in on us, making sure our phones are charged.”

Family and friends have been actively putting up flyers in the neighborhood and combing the area where Mendoza-Olmos went missing. Her family members traveled from as far away as California to join in the frantic search, which has lasted for more than two days now.

Mendoza is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 110 pounds. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office stated she was last seen in a light blue and black hoodie, light blue pajama bottoms, and white shoes.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has issued a statewide Coordinated Law Enforcement Adult Rescue (CLEAR) Alert to bolster the search efforts for Mendoza-Olmos, and this alert is currently still active. This initiative aims to aid law enforcement in locating and rescuing missing adults who may be in danger, as well as assisting in finding potential suspects.
