LPGA Tour star Charlie Hull explained Sunday that the reaction to a viral video of her smoking a cigarette while signing autographs for fans has led to flirtations from male fans.

Hull was thrust into the spotlight after a practice session before last week’s U.S. Women’s Open, where she finished tied for 19th at six-over par.

“It’s actually pretty funny. I think it’s the cigarettes,” Hull told reporters. Via Golf.com“I’d always walk up to the practice field, and my hands were full, and someone asked me to sign an autograph, and I wasn’t going to say no, because I love signing autographs. But if I just put a cigarette in my mouth and signed an autograph, it would spread.”

“It was really crazy this week with fans screaming my name. I had someone write their phone number on a piece of paper in their hand and hand it to me because they said I’d dropped something. I thought that was really funny.”

Halle said she had never texted fans before but found the exchange amusing.

“It’s been a bit of a hectic week.”

Hull further explained that he smokes cigarettes but rarely drinks alcohol.

“I was a bit stressed last year and started vaping. I wanted to quit, and although smoking is no better than vaping, I can always smoke vaping indoors. I thought, if I’m going to smoke cigarettes, I might as well go outside and smoke cigarettes.”
