Winter Storm Hits Chicago, Lakers Shine in the Cold
On a chilly Monday night in Chicago, where temperatures dipped into the single digits, the Lakers brought an intense scorching performance to the United Center. It became clear early on that Los Angeles was ready for a high-scoring game, taking the Bulls down 129-118.
LeBron James kicked things off effectively, sinking a difficult fadeaway jumper over Bulls player Jalen Smith, and quickly racked up 20 points within the first 16 and a half minutes. By halftime, the Lakers led 69-56 after a powerful second quarter.
Luka Doncic followed suit, showcasing his scoring and playmaking skills with 17 points and eight assists in the first half. He continued to impress, contributing 20 points in the third quarter, which helped the Lakers maintain their lead.
When the team needed to share the offensive load, Rui Hachimura stepped up yet again. He scored 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting, including making four of five three-pointers. His strong showing in Chicago mirrored his performance from Saturday in Dallas.
The Lakers collectively shot an impressive 56.1 percent from the field and nailed 48.5 percent of their three-pointers, scoring at least 34 points in each of the first three quarters. With this win, they secured their fourth victory in the last five games.
On the Bulls’ side, Coby White led the charge with 23 points, six assists, and five rebounds. Despite hitting 18 of 49 three-point attempts, the Bulls struggled defensively, giving up too many points.
Chicago’s 15 turnovers allowed the Lakers to capitalize, leading to 23 points for Los Angeles.

This victory improved the Lakers’ record to 28 wins and 17 losses. They now have a chance to clinch three consecutive wins for the second time since December.
