Hunter Biden’s Ex-Girlfriend Calls for Jail Time Over Child Support Dispute
Landen Roberts, Hunter Biden’s former girlfriend and mother of his 7-year-old daughter, is requesting that her ex be jailed for allegedly failing to adhere to their child support agreement.
On Tuesday, she filed a request with an Arkansas judge to revisit their ongoing legal case, asserting that the 55-year-old should remain incarcerated until he fulfills the terms of their 2023 settlement, as noted in court documents.
The filing states, “He is imprisoned in the Independence County Detention Center as a civil penalty until cleared of contempt as ordered by the court.”
Roberts, 34, had previously settled her disagreements with Hunter by agreeing to receive a “specified number” of proceeds from his art sales for their daughter, Navy Joan Roberts.
As part of the agreement, she also withdrew her request for Navy to carry the Biden surname and reduced her monthly child support demand from $20,000 to $5,000.
For a long time, Biden denied being the father until a court-ordered DNA test confirmed the relationship in 2019. Their father-daughter relationship included several phone calls, but after the release of Roberts’ book, “Out of the Shadows,” Biden distanced himself from Navy. The book, she claims, wasn’t meant to offend him.
The court filing alleges that Biden’s absence caused “emotional trauma” to Navy, particularly after they had attended a family wedding that underscored his lack of involvement, as he didn’t walk her down the aisle or dance with her at the reception.
Roberts supports the idea of jailing Biden, suggesting that he might only address child support obligations if faced with incarceration. Her filing argues, “The defendant should be imprisoned as a criminal punishment that demonstrates the dignity and authority of this court.”
Interestingly, despite feeling hurt, Navy believes her father will eventually join her in heaven. She reportedly mentions that she misses him and wishes to be with him.
The motion expresses concern that Navy hasn’t had contact with Biden, and Roberts claims that he has suffered guilt for not being involved in her life. She also criticized his past expressions of remorse as merely a tactic to minimize financial support for their daughter.
Roberts is also requesting a change to the court-ordered child support, emphasizing that Biden’s financial situation has changed since their last ruling. She argues it’s unfair that Navy doesn’t share the same benefits as Biden’s other grandchildren.
“MC1 is beginning to realize that she will not be able to enjoy the same lifestyle as Mr. Biden’s other children, and that is unfair to MC1,” the motion reads, highlighting her desire for Navy to receive at least the same level of support as Hunter’s son Beau, who is married to Melissa Cohen.
