Luxury plane smashes onto Florida highway and goes up in flames after both engines stop working, killing 2

Horrifying audio was recorded moments before a small plane lost both engines in Florida and crashed on a highway near the Naples enclave, the newspaper said. new york post.

The plane that ultimately crashed belonged to HopAJet, a luxury airplane company that has been in business for more than 40 years. During the flight, the pilot of the Bombardier Challenger 600 announced to the control tower, “Hop-a-Jet 823, we’ve lost both engines, emergency.”

“We’re making an emergency landing. We can land, but we’re not going to reach the runway. Both engines have failed,” the pilot said just before the audio suddenly went silent. The plane eventually crashed into the ground on Interstate 75.

a Second report Brianna Walker noted that the jet’s wings dragged the car in front of it as it hit the ground. She said: “It only took a few seconds to separate us from the car in front of us. The wing crushed this one car.”

“The plane was inches over our heads,” she continued. “It took a sharp right turn and crossed the highway.”

“It feels like a movie, it feels surreal,” Walker said. “We were seconds away from dying.”

Other witnesses said they heard a loud bang and saw plumes of black smoke in the Pine Ridge Road area. Another witness, Gary Elsinger, said he and his son watched the plane crash.

“It seemed like it broke in two on impact and was completely engulfed in flames and black smoke,” Elsinger said. “My son said, ‘Oh, I just saw an explosion.’ I thought it was probably a car accident. As I got closer, I said, ‘Wait a second, is that a plane?’

National Transportation Safety Board investigators arrived at the scene and will “document the scene and inspect the aircraft. The aircraft will then be recovered to a secure facility for further evaluation,” the report said.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, two people were killed in the tragic accident. The Post reported that one of the plane’s wings clipped the vehicle, causing the plane to swing in front of another vehicle and crash into a concrete wall.

It is not clear how both engines stopped mid-flight. The investigation into the plane’s failure continues.
