The Texas heiress whose $59 million “wedding of the century” in Paris made headlines is pregnant with her first child with her husband, a felon suspected of shooting three police officers. He is currently serving a sentence.
Madeleine Brockway showed off her gorgeous cake at a recent gender reveal party in Paris, France, and shared the life-changing news on Instagram.
“18 weeks with our beans,” she wrote, tagging her husband Jacob LaGrone.
In the photo, Brockway, who is the heir to multiple Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Florida, was celebrating the birth of his baby girl while eating pink cake.
But the soon-to-be father is currently in the midst of a legal battle, having been charged with felony aggravated assault on a public servant stemming from a March 2023 police shooting.
Police said they responded to a home in Tarrant County, Texas, after receiving multiple calls about a disturbance at the couple's $1.4 million home after they were out for the night. The Daily Mail reported.
The then-engaged couple's fight spilled over into their driveway, and Brockway fled to his parents' home nearby.
Madeleine's father, Bob Brockway, went to the couple's home and asked police to perform a welfare check on LaGrone.
LaGrone allegedly fired shots at three officers from inside his garage when police arrived.
He was arrested but released on $20,000 bail.
Mr. LaGrone was indicted in August 2023 on a charge of “deliberate and knowing intimidation.”[ed] The indictment states “imminent injury” and “used or displayed a deadly weapon, namely a firearm, during the commission of the assault.”
The couple married a few weeks after being charged with a felony.
A lavish wedding ceremony was held at Chateau de Villette, 40km northwest of Paris.
After the ceremony, a grand reception was held at the Paris Opera.
After performing at the couple's first dance, Maroon 5 held a private concert.
Brockway's wedding also included an overnight stay at the Palace of Versailles.
Photos of the dream wedding went viral, turning the unknown bride into an overnight sensation.
Her internet fame didn't last long, as her husband returned stateside for a pre-trial appearance two weeks after their wedding.
LaGrone stood with his head down inside Tarrant County District Court without his wife by his side.
Brockway deleted her TikTok account and made her Instagram private over the court hearing.
Since then, the expectant mother has taken to Instagram to share her lavish lifestyle with her 47,000 followers, without mentioning her husband's legal troubles.
During the hearing, LaGrone was given a plea deal that waived the trial and sentenced him to 25 years in prison.
If the case goes to trial and LaGrone is convicted, he faces either less than five years in prison or life in prison.
A status conference in the case is scheduled for Feb. 6, 2025, according to court records reviewed by The Post.
