Madeline Klein is aware of the chatter surrounding her on social media.
The 27-year-old actress has responded positively to discussions about her role in “Outer Banks.”
Klein plays Sarah Cameron in the Netflix series, which chronicles a group of friends from the Outer Banks in North Carolina, now gearing up for its fourth season.
“People really have a thing about scrutinizing your weight,” she shared with Allure in a recent interview. “It’s odd to me. My look has shifted from season to season, influenced by stress, health choices—good and bad. It’s just life, right?”
“But cameras definitely catch everything,” Klein admitted. “Can I just relax a bit? Can I enjoy a beer the night before?”
She pointed out, “In comment sections, we’re not all supportive.”
“This is my own battle with body image,” Klein added, referring to her feelings about herself.
“Outer Banks” made its debut in 2020 and is set to kick off its fifth and final season in 2026.
About the upcoming season, Cline expressed she feels “excited” and “ready.”
“I think everyone is on board,” she remarked. “It feels like it’s time for growth again.”
The series also features Chase Stokes as John B, Madison Bailey as Kiara, Jonathan Davis as Pope, and Drew Starkey as Rafe, with Rudy Pankow portraying JJ, who was written off in season four.
In the show, Sarah had a significant relationship with John B, but in real life, Klein and Stokes dated for just over a year.
Recently, Klein has been linked to artists Jackson Guthy and Pete Davidson.
“The jokes write themselves,” she playfully remarked about dating Davidson. “Also, he has an adorable dog.”
However, Klein isn’t rushing back into dating.
“I want to experience life on my own terms first. Before diving into relationships,” the “Knives Out” star explained. “When I’m working, it can be overwhelming as priorities start piling up, and I have to figure out where to focus my energy.”
She mentioned the pressure from being ambitious, coupled with feelings of inadequacy, adding some chaos to her mental space at times.
“I can’t dwell on it too much because, well, I deal with some intense anxiety, and it’s hard,” she confided. “I feel like I have imposter syndrome. It’s a very human experience, and yet here I am.”
Klein questioned, “What’s the alternative? Medication?”
The actress is also working on multiple upcoming projects, including a reboot of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and “Day Drinker,” alongside Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz.
During a recent podcast episode, she expressed gratitude for “Outer Banks,” recognizing its significance in her career.
“It was a substantial part of my 20s,” she reflected. “It has always felt like a safety net for me, almost as if it’s like taking off training wheels.”
She discussed the bittersweet nature of wrapping up the series.
“We’ve grown so close over the years. Filming is tough, and quite physically demanding,” she shared, considering the challenges. “I keep thinking, ‘Oh wow, how much stamina do I have to maintain for this show with all its demands?'”
“As we approached this final season, we realized it was our last first day, and that really resonated with everyone,” she concluded.
