Madison Bergmann allegedly moved student victim’s desk so she could rub his legs

Wisconsin teacher Madison Bergman was arrested for allegedly “flirting” with an 11-year-old in her classroom, and allegedly moved the victim’s desk next to her during class without other students seeing. .

The alleged victim told police a similar story.

According to a criminal complaint filed Thursday in St. Croix District Court, the fifth-grader told sex crimes investigators that Bergman rubbed his thighs and calves during independent reading time.

The boy also admitted to police that Mr. Bergman intended for him to stay after class. She claimed Bergman kissed her several times in her classroom, either after school or while other students were eating lunch.

Bergman, 24, is charged with first-degree child sexual assault of a child under 13.

The boy’s family became friends with Bergman and even went on ski trips together to the nearby resort of Afton Alps. Bergman told authorities she received the boy’s number that weekend.

Last week, the boy’s mother heard a disturbing phone call and alerted the boy’s father. The boy’s father confiscated the boy’s cell phone and read his text messages, according to the complaint.

According to the complaint, Bergman told the boy in a text message that he wanted to “grab his face, push him to the floor and start making out with him.” In another text message, she allegedly said, “I almost kissed you today when you were on the ground but I got distracted by your stomach.”

The boy’s father was furious and printed out the text and brought it to school. Authorities immediately began an investigation.

Police searched Bergman’s backpack and allegedly found a folder with the victim’s name written on it. Inside were several handwritten letters.

“In the notes, she tells him that she loves him, that she wants to kiss him, that he turns her on, and that she is obsessed with him,” the complaint states.

Bergman is free on $25,000 bail. She has social media disabled and is not allowed on school grounds or at school events. It is unclear whether she has yet retained her attorney, who is authorized to speak on her own behalf.

Additionally, Bergman, who was engaged to Sam Hickman, will no longer be walking down the aisle in July.

“It’s been postponed indefinitely,” a friend of the fiance’s told the Saturday Post.

“And that’s probably not going to happen. He’s really upset and heartbroken. He’s embarrassed and angry. He didn’t deserve that. Everybody’s angry.”
