At least two people were killed and six others injured in a school shooting in Madison, Wisconsin, on Monday, with police saying the suspected gunman was found dead at the scene.
Police said they responded to Abundant Life Christian School at approximately 10:57 a.m. local time after receiving reports of an active shooter. They identified a “juvenile” who died at the scene and was believed to be responsible for the shooting. They are asking local residents to avoid the area.
In addition to the gunman, at least two other people were killed and six others were taken to nearby hospitals with injuries, Madison Police Chief Shon Burns said. Burns did not say whether the person who died was a student or a teacher.
He said officers did not fire any shots while responding to the scene.
