Magic Johnson has frequently weighed in on political issues this election season, including praising Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. The first time he did so during the Democratic National Convention, he was roundly mocked. The second time, after Harris was interviewed on CNN on Thursday night, things were no different.
“Vice President Kamala Harris was fantastic in her interview on CNN tonight! She has a true vision for the country,” Magic wrote about the pre-taped interview between VP Harris and running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz.
X-users seemed largely unconvinced that Harris actually had a concrete vision.
Undaunted by the backlash, Magic doubled down on his claims in another, even longer post, seemingly trying to convince himself of what he said about Harris.
“Vice President Harris has been strong and clear about where she stands on the economy, foreign policy, immigration and other issues. She clearly explained why she changed her views on some issues, demonstrating her humility, growth and willingness to be open,” he wrote.
Surprisingly, User X was not upset by this second post.
Magic Johnson not only runs the Lakers, but he's also part of the ownership group that bought the Washington Commanders, so maybe that's something he should focus on more.
