Maher on Trump’s second term: ‘I’m not gonna pre-hate anything’

Comedian Bill Maher, with the second Trump administration set to take office in the White House later this month, has declared that he has “no intention of hating anything up front” and said in an interview that he “hopes for the best.” Ta. But if something “significant” happened, he would discuss it on air.

Maher said on CNN's “The Read” on Friday that President-elect Trump “is not going to drop rabbits down rabbit holes like he did in his first term.”

“He's a quirky guy who says a lot of quirky things, but I'm not going to dislike anything up front. I'm just going to hope for the best and if something significant happens, I'll comment on it.” “I intend to,” he told CNN anchor Jake Tapper.

Mr. Ma, a vocal critic of President Trump, has previously said the situation could get even worse for voters if a Republican candidate wins the 2024 presidential election. The comedian predicted she would lose to Vice President Harris last November. In the end, Trump won, taking all seven battleground states.

After the election, he criticized Democrats, saying that their “aggressively anti-common sense policies” contributed to their loss of both chambers of Congress and the White House.

Maher said Friday that he will do a weekly monologue on HBO's “Real Time” where he will discuss President Trump's latest ideas, including buying Greenland and making Canada the 51st state.

“It's perfect as a comedy, but I'm not going to take it seriously,” he told CNN.

Maher also said President Biden is too old to serve as commander-in-chief and echoed previous claims that he needed to withdraw from the 2024 presidential election early to allow the Democratic National Convention to take place. It doubled.

“I felt entitled to make that claim because for years I was the only person on television who consistently denounced ageism. “I have always said that discrimination is the last form of bigotry that will be tolerated in this country,” Maher said Friday.

“You can always make jokes about your age, you can always criticize people for being too old, and like I said, it's case by case. A 70-year-old person can be like a 100-year-old person. “Some people act like they're 40 years old, and some people act like they're 40 years old,” he added. “But this was a case of Biden being too old.”
