Mahmoud Khalil Compares ICE Detention to ‘Nazi Concentration Camps’

Anti-Israel activist Mahmoud Khalil compares his time at Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facilities with Nazi concentration camps.

I got a copy of Viktor Frankl’s “Man’s Search for Weange.” While it is embarrassing to compare one’s condition in ice detention with a Nazi concentration camp, some aspects of Frankl’s experience resonate. I saw my fellow detainees resignation and defeat.

I write this letter when I rise, hoping that a suspension of my rights will raise the alarm bell that yours is already at risk. To protest the shameless massacre, I hope that your most basic human instincts will incite your rage that they are being oppressed by obscure laws, racist propaganda, and nations that fear awakened people.

In March, ICE officials arrested Khalil, a Palestinian activist and Columbia University alumnus, leading an extremist protest on campus, Breitbart News reported.

The outlet said, “President Donald Trump campaigned on October 7, 2023 on a promise to deport international students who are promoting anti-Israel and anti-Semitic protests on campus that exploded under President Joe Biden following the terrorist attacks by Israeli Hamas.”

A few weeks later, several Columbia graduates tore their diplomas apart during protests against the Trump administration and Halil’s arrest.

Khalil is reportedly a spokesman for an anti-Israel group called Colombia Apartheid United Dibust.

A federal judge recently ruled that Secretary of State Marco Rubio has legal authority to cancel Halil’s visa after leading a pro-Hamas protest at Columbia University on a per Breitbart News.

“To justify the expulsion, Rubio cited existing laws that allow foreigners to cancel visas held,” the report said.
