‘Maine Cabin Masters’ star Matt ‘Dixie’ Dix’s wife Ginna Dix dead at 48

“Main Cabin Master” Starmat “Dixie” Dixie Dix, wife of Dix, has passed away. She was 48 years old.

The Magnolia Network Show announced Ginna's death on Wednesday in an Instagram post shared on the official “Main Cabin Master” account.

“We are heartbroken to announce the unexpected passing of Ginna Dix on February 1, 2025,” the caption said. “Dixie's beloved wife, Ryan's parents' daughter of God, and friends with many. Ginna is a large part of the Main Cabin Masters family and is ridiculously overlooked.

According to published obituaries CentralMaine.com, Ginna passed away unexpectedly at the Main Medical Center in Portland, Maine, along with her family. No cause of death was provided.

Originally from Sydney, Maine, Ginna is a nursing student at St. Anthelm College in Goffstown, New Hampshire, and graduated in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in nursing. That same year, she met Dixie and the two tied the knot. September 22, 2001. Ginna and Dixie shared three children, Michael, Lindsay and Killie.

After graduating from St. Anselm College, Ginna won her first job as a nurse at Pinetree Camp in Rome, Maine. Over the years, she worked as a registered nurse at a hospital and as a cancer care center in Maine before graduating in 2018 with a nursing degree from Purdue University in Indiana.

After graduating, she returned to Maine and became a nurse practitioner at Harold Alphondo Center and Maine Health Franklin Memorial Hospital.

“Ginna loved spending time at her husband and three dogs, Quimby, Dodge and Asher, at her home in Rangeley,” her obituary said. “Ginna spent time on the beach in the summer and enjoyed snowmobiles through the forest in the winter.

“She was surrounded by family and friends and was happiest when she was drinking a glass of Prosecco on a Saturday morning when she was 'until camp.' She was often found to sit quietly on the couch with her dog. Reading coffee and books. ”

The pair's lifelong friend, Dixie's “Cabin Master” Cortal Ryan Eldridge, paid tribute to Ginna on Instagram. He posted a photo of his throwback with Ginna along with another image taken as a child.

“We were born on the same day, two years apart. My parents were best friends, and you married my best friend,” writes Eldridge.

Eldridge said that Ginna “should have been my sister for 11 years,” before his brother and sister Kari was born, she was “too tough and strong willed.”

The reality star said that Ginna was “one of the boys riding inside the house on an Iron Mine Hill bike, and at the same time, not the powerful, nonsense woman you came.”

“Main Cabin Masters” debuted on Magnolia Network. It was known as the DIY network before being purchased by Chip and Joanna Gaines. The series follows Carpenter Dixie, Eldridge and Jared “Jedi” Baker, along with contractor Chase Morrill, Ashley Morrill, the designer's sister and wife of Eldridge, to host a Maine cabin.
