Maine woman gets 55 years for death of longtime friend who was stabbed 484 times

A judge on Friday sentenced a woman to 55 years in prison for killing her longtime friend, who was stabbed nearly 500 times in 2022.

Convicted murderer Kylie A. Brackett said she was not responsible and that the culprit may be at large.

Brackett and Donnell Dana of Perry were both charged with murder and put on trial. However, a mistrial was declared after the jury deadlocked on the charges against Danna.

They are charged in the death of Kimberly Neptune, 43, of Perry, whose body was found wrapped in a blanket at her home in April 2022 and suffered 484 stab wounds, according to state police. was discovered in the condition it was in.

Dana later pleaded guilty to hindering apprehension or prosecution for destroying evidence related to Brackett’s murder charge.
