Amazon, Target, and Walmart are in a competitive frenzy, each announcing sales events set to kick off in October. While Amazon and Target will start their promotions on October 6, Walmart is getting a head start with its sales beginning a day earlier, on October 5.
Walmart’s event will run from midnight on October 5 through October 11, giving shoppers a full week to take advantage of discounts across various categories. Customers can expect up to 50% off on home goods, around 40% off on fashion and tech items, and up to 30% off toys — which is pretty handy as people begin preparing for the holiday shopping season.
Meanwhile, Target is launching its annual Circle Deal Days event. This sale is exclusive to members of its free loyalty program, but those with a Target Circle 360 membership will have the privilege of early access, a full day in advance.
This event features discounts of 40% on thousands of products, covering everything from clothing to home decor, kitchen gadgets, beauty items, toys, and more. It’s worth noting that Circle 360 members get to start shopping on October 5, while non-members will have opportunities to snag deals from October 6 to 7.
Joining Target Circle is simple and free, whether online or through the app, and there are some limited-time loyalty offers to sweeten the deal.
New members who sign up for Target Circle between September 27 and October 5 will receive 15% off their first purchase. Additionally, shoppers applying for a Target Circle Card during the same period and receiving approval will score $75 in Target Circle Rewards.
Moreover, there is also a $50 reward for those who sign up for an annual Target Circle 360 membership between September 27 and October 10.
Target Circle Card holders, along with teachers, college students, military personnel, and government assistance recipients, can benefit from over 50% off the Target Circle 360 membership, which includes perks like free, fast shipping, same-day delivery, monthly freebies, and early access to sales.
On the Amazon front, they are rolling out substantial discounts with their Prime Big Deal Days. This two-day event, scheduled for October 6 and 7, starts at 12:01 a.m. PDT, and all Prime Members can take part and enjoy free delivery on purchases.
Shoppers can expect major markdowns on fall apparel and shoes, with discounts reaching up to 45%. Cozy bedding, blankets, and holiday decor will be available at up to 35% off, while game day hosting and tailgating supplies will see reductions of up to 30%. And just in time for Halloween, costumes and accessories will start at a mere $5.
