The wife of piston star Malik Beasley filed a petition for legal separation from Hooper a day before the couple celebrated their five-year wedding anniversary.
Montana Yao filed a legal application in Los Angeles on Tuesday, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, according to multiple reports.
This is the second time Yao has moved to end his marriage.
Beasley and Yao, 28, met in 2019 and got married on March 5, 2020.
However, just nine months later, Yao moved to the file for divorce after the NBA player was found holding hands with Rasa Pippen, the ex-wife of Bulls star Scotty Pippen.
Yao was caught off guard by a photo that appeared that year and ranted her husband in an Instagram story post. According to people.
“Amazing… I don't even know this guy…” Yao posted on his social media platform on December 1, 2020.
The couple eventually settled, and in May 2021, Beasley publicly apologized to Yao on social media for falling into the situation.
“I was looking for more when I was here all the time. I'm telling the world that I don't have a body like you for me.” He wrote at that time.
The couple shares two children, Makai and Mia.
Beasley averaged 16.6 points with 2.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game, shooting 44.2% from the field this season.
The guard was the Nuggets' first pick in 2016, and also spent time with the Timberwolves, Jazz, Lakers, Bucks and Piston.
