Mallory and Dansby Swanson share the news of their pregnancy.

Mallory and Dansby Swanson are eagerly anticipating their first child together.

The couple shared the news of Mallory’s pregnancy in a social media announcement on Wednesday.

In her Instagram caption, Mallory described the baby as their “greatest blessing.”

At 27, Mallory, who has played for the Chicago Stars in the National Women’s Football League, missed the beginning of the regular season due to personal matters.

Her last game with the Stars was back in November.

The couple has been together since 2017 and got married in 2022 after Dansby proposed the year prior.

They noted, “It was very special to marry in front of our family and friends,” adding that it signifies their unity and shared purpose.

Mallory achieved remarkable success in her career, having won the Women’s World Cup in 2019 and gold at last summer’s Olympics in Paris, where she scored the decisive goal against Brazil.

Dansby, now 31, is in his tenth season in Major League Baseball. The Diamondbacks initially selected him first overall in the 2015 MLB draft, and he later joined the Braves.

He played seven seasons in Atlanta and was part of the 2021 World Series Championship team. In addition, he earned Gold Glove honors and was named to the All-Star team the following year.

Having signed a notable seven-year contract worth $177 million with the Cubs after the 2022 season, Dansby has made it to the All-Star Game again and secured another Gold Glove in 2023.

Currently in his third season with the Cubs, he has a batting average of .236, with seven home runs and 20 RBIs across 38 games.
