A 27-year-old man who appeared to be homeless was found dead in Central Park in subzero temperatures Wednesday evening, police said.
The man was found unconscious and unresponsive near a storage container at Ramsey Playfield around 6:45 p.m., authorities said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene off East Drive near East 72nd Street.
Police said there are no signs of foul play at this time, but the city's medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death.
Law enforcement officials added that there were no obvious signs of trauma to his body.
The playground where he was found hosts Summer Stage, a series of outdoor concerts and performances held during the warmer months.
The Big Apple was hit by another cold snap this week, with temperatures only reaching the low 30s on Wednesday.
It is unclear how much time passed between the man's death and the discovery of his body.

Further information about the person was not immediately available, but police suspect he was homeless.
