Man accused of shooting neighbor’s pregnant cow five times, leaving it covered in bullets

A man in Florida has reportedly shot his neighbor’s pregnant cow multiple times, as stated by the local sheriff’s office.

Hung Trinh, 54, allegedly shot a two-year-old calf five times, hitting it in the gut, breast, and hind legs. He was arrested on the spot for animal cruelty, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies arrived, the cow was still alive but struggled to stand and walk, which is quite heartbreaking. A video released by the sheriff’s office shows the situation.

The cow was quickly taken to a veterinarian for treatment. According to reports, Trinh was angry because his neighbor’s livestock had repeatedly entered his garden, and he felt threatened by the animals.

The neighbor raises livestock for commercial purposes, including the calf that Trinh allegedly shot.

Authorities searched Trinh’s property and found a .22 caliber firearm. He now faces charges of animal cruelty and commercial animal theft.

“Innocent animals are involved in this case, and there will be serious consequences for those who choose to act out of frustration,” Sheriff Carmine Marceno stated. “We recognize the significance of these animals in the farming community and do not condone such behavior.”

Trinh was taken into custody with a $100,000 bond, and his court appearance is scheduled for June 16th.

Interestingly, it seems that cows often find their way into places they shouldn’t be.

In a similar vein, back in 2019, a cow escaped from a meat market in Connecticut, only to be cornered and killed in a nearby parking lot. Another cow from Poland jumped out of a truck while heading to a slaughterhouse and somehow swam to a nearby island. It was hailed as a hero until it sadly died from stress during a rescue attempt.
