A man who jumped naked into a Bass Pro Shops water tank in Leeds, Alabama, has been arrested and is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
Leeds Police Chief Constable Paul Irwin said the incident happened just before closing time.
The 42-year-old man reportedly began acting erratically and intentionally crashed his car into a pole in the store's parking lot. The man's family told police that he suffered from mental illness.
After the crash, the suspect got out of the car, took off his clothes and ran into a Bass Pro Shop, police said. Once inside, the man jumped into the tank.

Irwin said officers were dispatched to the store to remove the man from the water tank. The suspect was belligerent and refused to cooperate with officers' commands to get out of the water.
In a video reported by AL.com, two Leeds police officers can be seen trying to talk to the man, which was recorded by a bystander.
As officers climbed the stairs inside the store and approached the aquarium, the man got out of the water, yelled something at officers, and then jumped back into the water, according to the report.
“He was very unstable and said a lot of horrible things to police officers,” Irwin told Fox News Digital.

The man continued to scream at officers before climbing over the side of the aquarium and falling to the concrete floor below, where he appeared to be unconscious, AL.com reported.
Officers handcuffed the man, but he woke up and tried to struggle. Airiun said he assaulted one of the officers by kicking him.
The man was then covered with a blanket and taken outside the store, AL.com reported.
As the officer tried to put the suspect into his patrol car, the man kicked the car door so hard that it damaged the door frame, Irwin said.
