Florida Man Arrested for Public Indecency

A 79-year-old man from Florida has found himself in hot water, or perhaps, more accurately, *in a thong.* Tyrone James Causey was arrested after reportedly exposing himself repeatedly around his apartment complex and making obscene gestures. When confronted by the police, he argued he had “the right to walk around naked.”

The trouble began when neighbors expressed growing “concern and dissatisfaction” about his actions to the police. This led to an indictment on May 22 for five counts of lewdness, as reported.

When law enforcement arrived, Mr. Causey wasted no time in showcasing exactly what his neighbors complained about. Answering the door clad only in a “G-string thong,” he reiterated his belief that, according to Florida Statute 800.001, unless he was in a “park,” he was well within his rights to be naked.

Officer Savannah Hutchison informed him that public exposure was illegal, but Mr. Causey stood by his claim, saying he didn’t realize he was being filmed. In a bizarre turn of events, he proceeded to apply lipstick in front of the officer and, inexplicably, started touching himself while suggesting she “play jump rope, baby doll.”

He was quickly arrested and taken to the Broward County Jail, though he was released the same day. Reports indicated at least five of his neighbors complained about his behavior, describing how he roamed the common areas and made “obscene gestures,” including pointing his genitals at a woman’s doorbell camera.

The initial charges stemmed from past incidents, and although a judge found probable cause only for misdemeanors, the situation certainly raised eyebrows. Earlier this year, in a separate incident, Causey faced charges related to a high-speed chase in the Florida Keys, where he drove aggressively, exceeding 100 miles per hour and committing several traffic violations.

Causey isn’t the only one making waves in the world of indecency. Residents in a Bronx apartment complex recently described a neighbor who has taken harassment to a new level, dressed in women’s clothing while supposedly brandishing weapons and causing chaos.

Whether it’s in Florida or the Bronx, it seems that odd neighborhood incidents are on the rise, prompting questions about community standards and personal freedoms—something a lot of us might find, well, a bit unsettling.
