Over 300 child marriages recorded in Germany: report
On a recent episode of “The Will Cain Show,” Katie Miller, the host of ‘The Katie Miller Podcast,’ talked about a study revealing a decline in traditional nuclear families across major U.S. cities and highlighted concerning reports of child marriages in Germany.
In a related incident, a man in Germany was arrested, suspected of setting fire to a mountain retreat originally built for Adolf Hitler. The fire erupted at the Eagle’s Nest in the Bavarian Alps on Friday evening, where firefighters struggled to extinguish the blaze in the face of strong winds.
The 33-year-old suspect, a German citizen exhibiting signs of mental illness, has since been taken to a psychiatric facility, according to authorities. However, they haven’t dismissed the possibility of a political motive given the site’s infamous history.
Witnesses reported seeing the accused riding a motorcycle down the mountain. The Eagle’s Nest, known as the Kehlsteinhaus in Germany, is situated over 6,000 feet above sea level and offers an elevator service for tourists during daytime hours. Since 1952, it has functioned as a seasonal restaurant and tourist draw, featuring an exhibit detailing its history.
Despite Hitler’s infrequent visits to the retreat, he often spent time at his nearby Berghof residence, which was destroyed after the war. Bavaria’s interior minister, Joachim Herrmann, addressed the situation at Eagle’s Nest, stating, “We’re not going to leave a ruin there. I think we will be able to find a sensible solution.”
He also emphasized the importance of continuing the work of remembrance regarding the site. Thankfully, there have been no reports of injuries from the fire.
