A man has been arrested on suspicion of strangling a woman and abandoning her body outside a Times Square hotel in New York City last week, authorities said.
According to the New York City Police Department, Jaheem Warren, 33, is suspected of randomly targeting Leslie Torres, 23, as she was walking in midtown Manhattan on October 29th.
Torres was found unconscious in front of the Riu Plaza New York Times Square Hotel, where he was discovered by hotel staff.

Warren was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Prospect Park, New Jersey, and charged with two counts of murder. new york post This was reported as a source from a law enforcement agency.
He also faces charges of first-degree assault, first-degree strangulation, second-degree assault and second-degree strangulation, the NYPD said.

Torres, who lived in Manhattan, was taken to Mount Siai West Hospital and remained on life support until his death on Nov. 4, police said.
Warren has an extensive criminal history in New Jersey, the Post reported.
He was convicted of drug trafficking and money laundering in 2019 and served more than four years in prison.

He was released in June 2023, but was jailed again in November of the same year on drug trafficking charges. He was released on March 6th.
