Man attacks Ohio police, steals cruiser before being shot dead

Bodycam footage from an Ohio State Patrol shows a suspect stole a police car and attacking a trooper minutes later before being shot by Pennsylvania State Police.

On April 4, 30-year-old Deshawn Leeth was caught in a single car rollover crash eastward on the Ohio Turnpike in Springfield Township near Line, Pennsylvania, according to Ohio State Patrol.

After the collision, officers arrived and found a lease on the shoulder of the highway. He contacted Reese and was attacked.

Reese screamed repeatedly “in the name of Jesus” while he was holding the officers down.

“You’re going to get hurt,” he told the police as the brawl continued. “The next time I touch you, you will die.”

Reese ran down the shoulder of the highway for a moment before turning around and jogging towards the officer. That’s when the officer pulled his taser and used it on the lease.

Not affected, Reese began throwing punches at the officers.

“I’m stronger than you,” he cried.

After a short fist, the officer was knocked to the ground, and his body cam became obscure. The trooper suffered minor injuries and was treated in a hospital, the Ohio State Patrol said.

The Ohio teacher tried to pay a student $2k to kill his estranged husband.

That’s when police say Reese took off in a police patrol vehicle and ran to Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania State Police resumed pursuit of Lease and when he crashed the Ohio Cruiser, he again attacked the officers, According to Mlive.com.

He was reportedly shot dead at the scene of the crash.

Reese was mentioned as the community leader and executive director of Underdognation, a nonprofit that focuses on children who have been harmed by violence.

“Dawg-Nation’s mission is to help children at risk who lack resources and help prevent teenage violence and leaving school,” according to the organization’s website.

However, according to court records, Reese spent seven years in a Michigan prison after pleading guilty to eight domestic invasions from separate cases in 2012 and 2016. He was released in 2023.

The Ohio State Patrol declined to comment further.
