She shared a now-deleted post questioning whether her feelings about her husband giving his mother a key to their new home were overreactions.
In her account, the 30-year-old, known as OP, described how she and her husband recently moved into a new place together. Before any discussions could take place about spare keys, her husband handed one over to his mother without even mentioning it to her first. That must have felt like a slap in the face.
Her feelings resonate—this situation sounds like it could be right out of a sitcom. The OP mentioned that while her mother-in-law is nice, she tends to meddle—yes, even moving around their kitchen supplies without permission.
Understandably, the OP expressed to her husband that she wasn’t comfortable with her mother-in-law having the keys. Unfortunately, her husband dismissed her concerns, labeling her responses as ‘dramatic’ and ‘overreacting.’ Those kinds of comments really might send someone into a spiral of frustration.
