Incident in Kansas City Involving Porta Potty Rescue
It was quite an unusual situation when a video surfaced of a man needing rescue from a porta potty in Kansas City, where firefighters had to cut him free after he was trapped for eight hours. The reason? He had crawled into a waste storage tank to retrieve a fallen bottle of Mountain Dew.
A representative from the company that supplied the portable toilets, Patriot Portable Toilets, shared that the man mentioned he went fishing for the soda and ended up fully inside the sewage tank. The partner of the company, Chip Counterman, explained in a video that workers were inspecting the toilets and knocking on each one to verify they were empty before towing them away.
When one of the units was found locked and the man inside didn’t respond after a warning, a passing motorcycle officer was alerted. Upon inquiring why the man remained inside, he reportedly explained, “I couldn’t reach the door and couldn’t get out of the bathroom.”
Workers, alongside the police, managed to break open the door only to find an empty toilet. However, there was a surprising turn of events when suddenly, the man’s head popped out, exclaiming, “I’m here.”
In a twist that many couldn’t quite believe, the firefighters were called to the scene. They used a hand saw to free the trapped man, cleaning the porta potty with water from a fire truck afterward.
The man told the responders that he was after a Mountain Dew bottle he had dropped in the tank the previous night. If that’s accurate, he certainly endured a lengthy stint in quite a grim situation.
