A Florida man was caught on camera in a bizarre act of throwing lawn chairs and other objects off a 20-story skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, narrowly missing pedestrians walking on the street below.
Jean Olivier, 33, whose last known address was in West Park, is seen in a brief video throwing a chair from the roof of 555 Fifth Avenue, an office building near East 46th Street that houses a Barnes & Noble on the first floor, onto the landing one floor below.
According to the footage, the man throws several plank-like objects onto the busy road below, only for a man on a passing motorbike to narrowly avoid them.
Another video shows Olivier waving his arms around, while onlookers inside a building across the street film the incident.
No one was injured in the chair-throwing accident.
Responding officers found Olivier and handcuffed him, police said.
Police said Olivier was charged with theft, endangerment, criminal damage and trespass.
It is unclear how Olivier gained access to the upper floors of the building or why he was in New York, but police said he has never been arrested there before.
The Haitian Consulate General is also located on the third floor of this building.
that Originally It was designed in 1955 by Emery Roth & Sons and redesigned in 1993 by world-renowned architect Der Scutt, who also designed Trump Tower.
