Man Arrested in NYC After Multiple Attacks with Metal Pipe
A man from New York City is back in custody following an alleged assault involving a metal pipe, just a week after being released from an earlier arrest related to another attack.
Jeremiah White, 23, reportedly confronted a 46-year-old woman in the Bronx around 5:20 a.m. on Wednesday, shouting, “I hit your mom,” before striking her several times on the face, head, and arms with the pipe. This incident was covered by local media.
The injured woman, identified as Virginia Alvarez, was on her way to work as a nurse at BronxCare Health when the assault occurred. She was subsequently hospitalized but is said to be in stable condition.
Later, White allegedly approached a 15-year-old girl walking on Louis Nine Boulevard and hit her in the head with the same metal pipe. Reports indicate that she was also taken to the hospital and is stable.
In yet another incident on the same day, White attacked a 54-year-old woman outside her residence, punching her in the face. He was arrested shortly after, less than an hour later.
According to police records, White has been charged with three counts of assault. Notably, this isn’t his first trouble with the law; he has a history of previous arrests. Just a week before these incidents, he was detained for allegedly punching a 17-year-old girl at a subway station. He subsequently faced charges of misdemeanor assault and harassment.
After his previous arrest, White appeared before a judge and pleaded not guilty, being released on non-monetary conditions.
