Man killed after crashing motorcycle into a wall on Randall’s Island

A man was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a wall in a Randalls Island parking lot Thursday evening, police and officials said.

The 40-year-old man was riding a Harley Davidson when his vehicle “lost its roadway” and crashed into a wall in the Icahn Lot D underpass in the Manhattan park just after 6:30 p.m.

Emergency services responded to the scene and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver’s name will not be released until family members have been notified.

No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported.

Police said the accident is currently under investigation.

Randalls Island was in the news earlier this week when NYPD officers raided an illegal immigrant camp and an open-air drug market.

Officers rushed to the trash-strewn, violence-ridden encampment outside a massive 3,000-bed shelter funded by the island’s city, where migrants were living spread across at least 50 tents.

More than 80 uniformed personnel, including officers and agents from the NYPD, New York City Fire Department and Parks Department, returned to the camp on Thursday to continue removing migrants refusing to leave.

Authorities also seized 11 mopeds, 11 empty tents, seven shopping carts and closed down five illegal vending stalls.

There has also been a recent increase in violent incidents in the migrant camps.

Police said a 26-year-old migrant was stabbed to death just outside a camp in the city on Sunday morning.

Two weeks earlier, Venezuelan migrant mother Sandra Serrano, 44, was killed in a parking lot on the island after being shot in the face and back by a gunman on a moped who also shot two other people, authorities said.

Sources told The Post that the driver who died in Thursday night’s crash was not a migrant.
