Long Island Murder Arrest
In a troubling incident, police in New York have apprehended a 33-year-old woman linked to the violent death of a 52-year-old man outside a yacht club on Long Island’s North Shore. The suspect, identified as Casey Corso, resides in nearby Setauket and is accused of stabbing Christopher Millwater, who lived in Selden.
The confrontation reportedly took place in a parking area near 21 Shore Road, a spot frequented by visitors to the Three Village Inn and nearby marinas and restaurants, located about 90 miles east of New York City. It’s not what one would typically expect from this picturesque area, known more for scenic kayak outings and weddings than for crime.
To add to the chilling nature of the incident, the yacht club has extensive surveillance, with multiple cameras positioned on nearby telephone poles. Sources suggest that much of the attack was captured on video.
Corso is scheduled to appear in Central Islip court facing a second-degree murder charge, which, according to New York law, pertains to intentional homicide. It’s still uncertain if other charges will follow.
Interestingly, social media activity from July, linked to Corso’s account, indicates she may have had prior connections with Millwater. One post included a photo taken from the yacht club’s parking lot, quite possibly near where the murder occurred. Millwater had liked one of those posts just days ago.
In addition to this case, Corso had faced unrelated legal troubles earlier this year related to another boat launch incident in a neighboring town. On May 5, she was charged for accessing a parking lot illegally and for being in a park area after hours.
Millwater’s Facebook page reflects a journey of resilience; he announced a “complete recovery” after cancer treatment in October. His sister shared that the Stony Brook location was his favorite fishing spot, making the loss even more poignant.
