Man steals Rolls-Royce from 83-year-old woman in Chicago, sentenced to 10 years

Chicago Man Sentenced for Carjacking Rolls-Royce

A Chicago resident, Trevon Robinson, 19, found himself facing serious consequences after he carjacked an 83-year-old woman’s Rolls-Royce. He received a 10-year prison sentence, which, quite frankly, means he won’t be driving any luxury vehicles anytime soon.

Robinson admitted to a felony charge of aggravated vehicle hijacking with a firearm related to an incident that took place in June 2024. According to police, the victim was behind the wheel of a silver 2017 Rolls-Royce Wraith when Robinson, driving a dark SUV, blocked her way and threatened her at gunpoint to steal the car.

Officers from a carjacking task force were able to chase Robinson down, leading to his arrest.

Interestingly, on the same day as the carjacking, Robinson recorded a video, apparently showing himself pursuing the hijacked vehicle. Investigators later discovered a note on his cell phone that included the victim’s home address, raising further questions about his intentions.

At the time of this offense, Robinson was on parole for an earlier conviction related to the unlawful use of a weapon, where he had served 18 months.

While the elderly woman was reportedly unharmed during this frightening incident, local officials expressed their gratitude towards the police for their swift action. Aldo Matthew O’Shea from the 19th Ward acknowledged their efforts in keeping a repeat offender off the streets.

It’s a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges related to crime in urban areas and the complexities surrounding the criminal justice system.
