Man struck in head, killed and one woman hit in Bronx shooting: cops

An innocent bystander was shot dead and when a gunman fired into a Bronx crowd on Wednesday evening, officers and sources said.

According to the NYPD, Yonkers’ Marj Dowd was shot in the head.

He was bleeding by the first responder and rushed to St Barnabas Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

The 33-year-old woman was also shot in the left hip while attacking, officers said.

Authorities say she is able to transport herself to Woodhull Hospital, where she remains stable.

The woman was not the intended target. At least a second innocent bystander was shot in the city within 24 hours.

It was not immediately clear whether Dowd was the target of another innocent bystander from the gunman.

Sources say the suspects are reportedly remaining large, and reportedly fired bullets at a crowd of people with targets that have not yet been decided by authorities.

As of early Thursday, there were no arrests and an investigation is ongoing.

The fatal shooting follows another eruption of big apple gun violence that killed her beloved grandmother and pioneering businessman, who was a pillar of her harem community.

Excelnia Mette, 61, was shot in the head after leaving her apartment salon Tuesday night and was caught in a crossfire in a shootout between the two men. She later died in a local hospital.

Mette opened the first black and women-owned bodega in the 1980s, but closed the shop during the pandemic.
