Arrest Made After Fatal Stabbing Outside Bronx Nightclub

A 28-year-old man has been detained in connection with the stabbing death of a woman who was trying to protect her boyfriend during a fight outside a nightclub in the Bronx, according to police reports from Tuesday.

Christian Moya was apprehended around 7:30 p.m. after he allegedly attacked Pamela Almonte Cabrera, 35, multiple times in the chest outside the Mama Dora Club on East Kingsbridge Road early Sunday morning, shortly after 4 a.m.

Moya, who resides in the Bronx, faces charges of murder, manslaughter, and weapon possession.

Sources in law enforcement and witnesses mentioned that Cabrera was injured amidst a brawl between two groups that erupted as patrons were leaving the bar.

In the altercation, Cabrera’s husband, reportedly knocked down during the fight, was the target of the attackers, prompting her to intervene for his defense.

Unfortunately, she was stabbed multiple times, with witness accounts indicating that a broken bottle was used to inflict the fatal injury.

Witnesses remarked on the chaos of the scene, noting that Cabrera stepped in to protect her husband when the stabbing occurred. Surveillance footage later revealed Moya, donning a yellow jacket, lunging at Cabrera.

After the incident, Moya fled the scene. Cabrera was rushed to BronxCare Health Systems and subsequently transported to Lincoln Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

It’s tragic to think that a protective act could lead to such a harrowing outcome.
