Man taken into custody for involvement in graffiti on Winston Churchill statue in the UK.

A man has been taken into custody after the statue of former Prime Minister Winston Churchill was vandalized with red graffiti in London, as reported by the Metropolitan Police on X.

Images depict the statue and its base marked with phrases like “Never Again,” “Zionist War Criminals,” and “Globalize the Intifada!”

“The statue was defaced with red paint overnight,” the police stated. They added that officers arrived on the scene within two minutes after receiving a call shortly after 4 a.m. A 38-year-old individual was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated crime.

A group of Dutch activists claimed responsibility for the graffiti.

On February 27, the statue was again targeted, this time with messages asserting “Liberate Palestine,” according to an Instagram post that included a pre-recorded statement from an individual identifying as Orax Outtis, a Dutch citizen.

He mentioned being part of a group called Free the Filton 24NL, explaining that their intention was to defile the statue, which they labeled as representing one of history’s most notorious war criminals.
