Man Arrested After ATV Incident at DC Police Station

A man was taken into custody for allegedly using an ATV to approach a police station in Washington, DC earlier this year, as reported by a former US service.

According to a press release on Sunday, 30-year-old Gerald Stokes was arrested in Greenbelt, Maryland. The US Marshals Service indicated that Stokes was wanted by the DC Metropolitan Police (MPD) for allegedly assaulting a police officer on March 15, 2025.

On that day, MPD officers attempted to reach out to a group riding ATVs and dirt bikes near some gas stations located at 14th St. and U St. NW. The release mentioned that Stokes had been parked next to a gas pump. When a fully uniformed officer approached, Stokes reportedly accelerated his ATV, lifting the front tire and directing it towards the officer.

The situation escalated when Stokes’s ATV approached the officers, prompting them to dodge out of the way, resulting in another individual getting struck. The officer who was hit was taken to a local hospital and, according to the Marshals, is still on the road to recovery and has not fully returned to duty.

In the press release, Gadyaces S. Serralta, a former US military director, emphasized the importance of maintaining public safety, stating that efforts to remove dangerous criminals from the streets are making a tangible difference.

He further commented on the need to bolster law enforcement, suggesting that increased resources could help fulfill the president’s directives to restore safety and beauty to DC.

On social media, the Greenbelt Police Department shared that the US Fugitives Task Force executed a warrant at a residence on Ridge Road that morning, which was connected to the ongoing DC police case. They noted that no Greenbelt officers were present during the execution of the warrant.
