An armed individual was apprehended on Friday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, where a special ceremony for Charlie Kirk is set to take place.
According to Anthony Guglielmi, a Secret Service spokesman, “Individuals were approached and said he is a member of law enforcement and is armed.”
The armed man, claiming ties to law enforcement, was taken into custody at State Farm Stadium on Friday, as reported by the Secret Service.
The NFL stadium is hosting a service ceremony for Charlie Kirk on Sunday, September 21st.
Guglielmi said, “The US Secret Service, along with local law enforcement, is investigating individuals displaying suspicious behavior at State Farm Stadium,” during a press update on Saturday.
He added, “The individual was approached by the Secret Service and, during the encounter, was identified as a member of law enforcement and was armed. He is now in custody and is not part of the authorized law enforcement at the event.”
The ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, featuring multiple speakers like President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance.
