Authorities in Piscataway, New Jersey, reported on Tuesday that a man armed with a machete fatally attacked his mother and grandparents before being shot by police on Monday. According to the local newspaper, the suspect’s father was the one who called 911.
When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they found the suspect still wielding the machete. Attempts to subdue him with a Taser were unsuccessful, and he charged at one of the officers, who then opened fire, resulting in the suspect’s death.
After the incident, three individuals were found deceased inside the home. The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office has initiated an investigation into the officer-involved shooting.
