A man with a long criminal record opened fire early Sunday morning on a couple outside a home in Florida, as reported by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to reports of gunfire around 2:15 a.m. in the 3100 block of 11th Street Court East, Bradenton.

Upon arrival, officers found a 32-year-old woman who had been shot in the face and a 41-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. They were taken to the hospital for treatment. The woman is in stable condition, while the man’s injuries were considered minor and he has since been released.

The suspect had fled the scene before deputies arrived, according to law enforcement.

Following an investigation, 26-year-old Xavion Richardson was identified as the shooter. He was apprehended during a traffic stop several blocks away.

Witnesses indicated that Richardson approached the residence looking for someone he claimed owed him money before opening fire on both victims.

Richardson faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, burglary, and possession of a firearm by a felon. He is currently being held without bail. His criminal history includes at least two assault convictions and several for lewd behavior.
