A Michigan man whose driver’s license has been suspended appears to have made a huge mistake while joining a Zoom call from an Ann Arbor, Michigan court.
District Judge Cedric Simpson said he couldn’t believe what was happening when the man joined the online conference while driving, Fox 13 reported. report Wednesday.
Video footage of the incident show Simpson asked defendant Corey Harris if he was driving, to which Harris replied, “Actually, I’m pulling up to my doctor’s office. Give me a second. I’ll park right now.”
The startled judge dropped his pen on the desk and asked Harris if he was “still standing still,” to which Harris replied that he was.
“Okay, maybe there’s something I don’t understand,” Simpson told Harris’ public defender. “This is driving with a suspended license.” [case]He was just driving and he didn’t have a license.”
Harris then seemed to realize what was going on and raised his hand as if to get the judge’s attention, to which the judge responded, “I have no idea why he did that.”
The judge informed those present in the courtroom that Harris’ bail had been revoked and that he should turn himself in to authorities. “If you fail to appear, a warrant will be issued for your arrest without bail,” Judge Simpson added.
