Teenagers’ Anti-Semitic Posts Shock New Jersey Community
Four teenagers from New Jersey have reportedly made alarming statements, vowing to “kill every last Jew” and dressing up as Adolf Hitler and Holocaust victims for Halloween.
Over the weekend, private messages originating from students at Manalapan High School surfaced on Snapchat, which later made their way to Instagram. One message stated, “I just realized that the only people we don’t really know are Jews.”
Another student responded, “Kill every last one.” This disturbing exchange included references to gas chambers and phrases that downplayed Holocaust atrocities.
Additionally, a screenshot revealed other troubling comments, including, “We’re all little kids who lived through the Halloween holocaust,” and another response that insisted, “It has to be done.” The students seemed to find this conversation amusing, with remarks like, “I’m really pissed off” noted in their exchanges.
Superintendent Nicole Hazel of the Freehold Regional High School District condemned these statements. “We are aware that some students in our district have made anti-Semitic posts outside of school. We take this matter with the utmost seriousness and are taking immediate, comprehensive and decisive action,” she stated. The situation is currently under investigation, and law enforcement has been notified.
The mayor of Manalapan, Eric Nelson, expressed he was “deeply disturbed and heartbroken” by the incident. In a letter to the community, he emphasized, “Anti-Semitism is not a joke. It’s hatred, plain and simple, and it has no place in our schools, in our cities, or anywhere in our society.”
While the school district has not confirmed any disciplinary action regarding the students involved, the incident has rattled the largely Jewish community of Manalapan. One parent commented, “What they said was pretty vile.”
This controversy follows recent reports of young Republican leaders making similarly offensive remarks, further amplifying concerns in the community.
