Brooklyn Apartment Residents Discover Dismembered Body Parts in Trash

Residents of a Brooklyn apartment have been reporting a strange smell coming from one of the units for days, only to later discover a head and torso concealed in the garbage.

On Friday, police revealed that dismembered body parts were found in a bag inside a dumpster at an apartment on East 21st Street. The stench had become so strong that it was noticeable even from afar. One resident described it as “definitely flesh,” noting that the odor hit them upon opening the door.

According to police, the parts were disposed of around 9:15 a.m., and the building’s manager reportedly witnessed a tenant putting trash bags into the bin. Sources indicate that the principal suspect was the victim’s roommate and boyfriend.

Authorities have since arrested Christopher Moss, 38, and charged him with concealing a human corpse. The situation prompted reactions from several neighbors who shared their experiences.

“As soon as the door opens, the smell just hits you,” said one neighbor. “Even from the other side of the entrance, you can still catch a whiff. It was unmistakable.” Others noted daily sightings of the couple smoking outside their home, perhaps suggesting a seemingly ordinary life that belied the horror within.

Officials have stated that the dismembered head and torso were wrapped in plastic and disposed of in a blue trash can. One resident expressed confusion, saying, “I see a lot of flies. I don’t know what’s happening, but it’s really unsettling.” Another neighbor recounted hearing loud noises and arguments from the apartment, describing it as filled with “boom boom boom… screaming.”

As of now, the victim has yet to be identified, and the cause of death remains undetermined.
