Many Find These Ideas Absurd: Democrat Julian Epstein Claims His Party Worships 'At The Altar Of Pagan Idols'

Democrat commentator critiques party’s direction

On Wednesday, Julian Epstein, a Democratic commentator, expressed significant concerns during an appearance on Fox Business about the party’s current strategy, suggesting it could lead to political downfall by alienating voters. He noted that Democrats, facing declining approval ratings after the 2024 election, seemed more focused on lecturing rather than engaging in effective campaigning, prompting a need for a rebranding effort.

Speaking on “The Evening Edit,” Epstein attributed the party’s troubles to its fixation on cultural and ideological battles championed by academic elites and activist groups. He remarked, “The Democrats are in the dumps. Whether it’s fundraising, party registration or public support on crucial issues, there’s a significant gap.”

Epstein criticized Democratic leaders for emphasizing ideological issues over practical concerns that affect everyday Americans, suggesting that the party is failing to resonate with the public.

He pointed out the party’s increasingly radical approach, saying, “They continue to pray at the altars of these pagan idols,” citing issues like gender discussions and law enforcement. For many, Epstein emphasized, these topics are simply irrelevant.

He warned that the influence of activist scholars is diminishing within the party and that their portrayal of Americans as “oppressed victims” is damaging. Epstein remarked, “They’re more focused on indoctrinating people into a victim mentality, which may serve their careers but is devastating for the party.”

From 2020 to 2024, Democrats lost about 2.1 million registered voters across 30 states and Washington, D.C., while Republicans gained approximately 2.4 million during the same period, according to reports. Several party members indicated that these sharp losses highlight a worrying trend that should alarm party leaders.
