March for Life in Washington, D.C.
Cissy Graham Lynch joined a crowd of tens of thousands at the March for Life in Washington, D.C., on Friday. During the event, notable figures like Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson addressed attendees, highlighting recent pro-life initiatives.
Trump announced a “National Sanctity of Life Day” and shared several federal efforts aimed at limiting abortion funding, enhancing conscience protections, and reversing directives from the Biden administration.
In a video message, Trump emphasized the nation’s acknowledgment of the right to life, stating, “Every life is a sacred gift from God.”
Additionally, Vance urged Americans to protect unborn children, expressing strong sentiments on the moral implications of discarding life.
Johnson recounted his own story, stating, “I was born in January 1972, exactly one year before Roe, after an unplanned pregnancy as a teenager. Many tried to persuade my young parents otherwise, but I’m thankful they chose life.” He shared how personal experiences shape the pro-life message.
Graham Lynch, the daughter of Reverend Graham, reflected on her own transformation through the March for Life. “The first time I attended many years ago, I felt a true conviction from God,” she recounted, noting how society has often propagated the idea that Roe v. Wade was irreversible. While she had hesitated to speak out in the past, witnessing the march was a pivotal moment for her.
“That day opened my eyes: a generation that rejects the notion that the Law is their future, one determined to ensure every life is valued,” she stated, also mentioning the reversal of Roe v. Wade as a result of persistent prayer and effort. However, she cautioned that the fight for life continues, as abortions still occur daily.
The White House outlined recent federal actions aimed at promoting pro-life policies, including restricting U.S. foreign aid from supporting abortions and limiting the use of fetal tissue in research.
Graham Lynch encouraged ongoing community engagement in pro-life efforts, urging, “Don’t buy into the belief that we can’t change things. The real work starts at home, in our churches, and around our communities.”
As the event concluded, she led a closing prayer, summoning everyone to keep praying for a national change of heart towards the sanctity of life.
