Rubio Meets with Families of Hostages Held by Hamas
Secretary of State Marco Rubio conducted his first official meeting in Washington, D.C., with families of those still held captive by Hamas in Gaza, as the conflict between terrorist groups and Israel continues.
A press release from the Hostages and Missing Family Forum shared that Rubio reiterated the Trump administration’s dedication to the safe return of the 50 remaining hostages.
Attendees included Moshe Ravi, brother-in-law of hostage Omri Milan; Elaine David, sister of hostage Eviator David; brothers of Tzur Goldin; and Iair Horn, whose brother Eitan is still imprisoned. Recently, another hostage, Horn, was released.
Rubio’s wife, Janet, and his son Anthony were also present at the meeting. During their discussions, the Secretary emphasized that real victory in Gaza would be achieved only when all hostages were brought home. He indicated that the U.S. has shown its capability to spearhead significant initiatives in the Middle East and expressed confidence that Israel could overcome challenges posed by Iran, Lebanon, and Hamas.
The families highlighted that this situation is distinct from past hostage agreements with Hamas—it represents a unique chance to secure the remaining hostages in a comprehensive deal. They conveyed their trust in the administration, stressing the urgency and determination needed to free more individuals held by Hamas.
In a related note, Israel stated it would recover three additional remains from Hamas, affirming, “There will be no victory until the last hostage returns.”
“We’ve waited long enough,” expressed the family. “Now is the time for courageous decisions to bring all loved ones home.”
