A Marine was killed when his vehicle overturned during a training exercise at a military base in California, authorities said Sunday.
The unidentified Marine was seriously injured Saturday when his High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle overturned at Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, the base said. In a press release.
After the rollover, the soldier was treated at Robert E. Bush Naval Hospital and then flown to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he was pronounced dead on Sunday.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Marine’s family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time,” the center wrote.
The name of the service member, who was assigned to the Tactical Training Exercise Control Group, will not be released until 24 hours after all next of kin have been notified, according to the base.

No other Marines were injured during the training, officials said.
The investigation into the rollover is ongoing.
