Former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene shared her thoughts on X regarding President Donald Trump’s recent speech to the nation, stating that all she could hear was “war, war, war.” She had hoped Trump would prioritize America, expressing her disappointment in the speech’s focus.
“I wanted to hear something that would truly help. But all I got was talk of war,” she noted. She pointed out the absence of plans for lowering living costs, addressing the national debt nearing $40 trillion, or saving Social Security, which she predicts could go bankrupt soon. Greene added that there was no mention of American jobs or education for children, which she found troubling.
“I’ve never been one to ignore our troops. I pray for them and for peace globally,” she concluded.
Fox News Digital reached out to the White House for responses but didn’t receive any reply immediately.
In his address, President Trump spoke after the U.S. started military actions against Iran a month prior. He emphasized that their efforts were aimed at eliminating Iran’s threats. “The world is watching us,” he remarked, suggesting that America would emerge stronger and more prosperous once these actions were complete.
Trump expressed confidence in the progress being made toward military objectives and said they would escalate their efforts soon. He indicated that discussions were ongoing as the nation grapples with rising fuel prices amid the conflict. The latest data from AAA reported a jump in gasoline prices to an average of $4.081 as of April 2.
According to Trump, once the war concludes, fuel prices would naturally decline as the Strait of Hormuz reopens. He also claimed, “Our economy is strong, improving day by day, and will soon be back to strength like never before.”
